On a typical day, the drive would only be an hour and a half, but this was no typical day. Even though the temperatures were in the low 20's and it took 5 1/2hrs to drive 90 miles one way, battling ice build up and avoiding trying to steer not getting caught up in the forming ice ruts on the road caused by tires and wet conditions, I did the long treacherous drive so he could enjoy his birthday.
